Located at the gate of the National park of the Écrins, on the south facing slope of the valley crossed by the eponymous stream. The ski resort is set on the pastures of Pra Prunier, at the foot of the Aiguilles de Chabrières (2 043m) and overlooking the lake of Serre-Ponçon.

Les Gourniers traditional hamlets, 1 500m high, with its old houses and little chapel.
La marmite des géants (geologic occurence), eroded stream bed at the start of the discovery and nature interpretation path.
Dry stone oratories Sainte Barbe, built in 1850, in the hamlet les Méans and the one in Le Villard, built in 1812.
Les Oucanes de Chabrières unusual landscape due to the chalk element in the Aiguilles de Chabrières and the action of running water, sculpting the rock and creating crevasses of various depth (20 to 25m) called nommées "lapiaz".

In July and August: exhibition on the natural wealth of the valley of Réallon, info and docs about the park. Thursday, the park keeper meets people to chare his knowledge of the fauna and flora at 10 am at the Chapelle Saint Marcellin, 45mn walk from Gourniers.
